Dental Health and Over-Acidification

Dental Health and Over-Acidification

Dental Health and Tooth decay may be more than just brushing your teeth not hard enough or rinsing your mouth with Listerine not often enough. Your body chemistry may be the culprit.

Your body's acid-alkaline imbalance may play a pivotal part in tooth decay. Too acidic an environment may strip the enamel of your teeth of minerals, making them more vulnerable to attack by bacteria, and thus causing tooth decay. Acidity in your mouth may also affect the potency of your saliva in checking bacteria from leftover bits of food in your mouth. Furthermore, any upset in your body's acid-alkaline ratios may lead to improper absorbing of nutrients, such as calcium, the lack of which result in tooth decay.

The bottom line: Don't just brush your teeth and rinse your mouth; keep your body free from over-acidification. Excess intake of foods containing great amount of acid, and insufficient elimination through your kidneys (urination) and the skin (perspiration) may lead to acid-alkaline imbalance, which is the underlying cause of tooth decay. Remember, the corrosive nature of acid causes inflammation, which is often a source of pain (tooth ache) and gum disease.

The main sources of acidity from foods and drinks are: animal proteins, cereals, and sugars; alcohol, coffee, and sugary drinks. Eat more alkaline foods, such as green vegetables, colored vegetable, chestnuts, black currant fruits, potatoes, bananas, almonds and Brazil nuts, among others.

A balanced acid-alkaline diet is essential for not only general health, but also dental health.

The Acid-Alkaline Diet: Balance your body's chemistry to create internal balance for self-healing, weight loss, and wholesome wellness.

Freedom from Dental Disease: Save yourself thousands of dollars by achieving a disease-free mouth through self-healing. Conventional dentistry may not help you with gum disease and tooth decay. Treat your mouth disease naturally. Find out what you should know about your mouth and body that no doctor or dentist is going to tell you.

Herb of Kings

Herb of Kings

Hippocrates, the father of medicine, once said: "Let food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food." This is the essence of self-healing.

Basil was herb of kings, according to ancient Greeks. As a matter of fact, it has been used as a healing herb in India for more than 4,000 years. It was believed that basil was found near the tomb of Jesus Christ, and henceforth it began to spread to all over the world.

Basil has rightfully earned its title as "herb of kings" for a good reason. It is a potent herb for self-healing.

The medicinal properties of basil include the phenolic compounds with potent antioxidant properties, and flavonoids to prevent cell damage, and its anti-bacterial properties. Basil is good for heart health: animal studies in rats and rabbits have demonstrated better blood circulation and less damage to heart tissues.
Nowadays, basil is extensively used in cooking for its mint-like flavor (basil is an herb of the mint family). Remember, put basil only in the last few minutes of your cooking in order to preserve its flavor and its medicinal properties.

In addition to using in recipes for cooking, basil is also used to heal common ailments:

Treating mouth ulcer by putting a basil leaf in the mouth

Curing earache with a drop or two of juice from basil leaves into the ear canal
Rubbing the scalp with basil oil to prevent hair loss

Drinking water with basil and rock salt to overcome indigestion

Treating hoarse voice with honey and basil juice

Always use natural healing foods, such as basil, to combat diseases and disorders -- not pharmaceutical drugs!

Finding Your Faith

Finding Your Faith

To find God, you need faith. Let faith be your guiding star in your life, and you will find Him.

Finding faith begins with loving God. Many Christians believe that following the commandments of God and the precepts of the church is an expression of their love for God. But loving God goes beyond that. Maybe we have never been taught to love God; we were brought up to obey Him. To love God seems such an abstract thought; after all, God is a spirit. However, falling in love with God is no mystery to those who really seek God through their faith. Even Jesus said: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul.” (Mark 12:30) Jesus would not have demanded the impossible from us. It is not impossible, and can be done with faith. Therefore, it is humanly possible to fall in love with God. With the love for God, faith will come along. That is how you can find faith by loving God first.

Jesus showed us the highest kind of love: self-offering love. “Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13) What is true of human love is also true of love for God. The Bible has repeatedly shown us individuals with self-offering love for God, such as apostle Peter.

God wants each and every one of us to love Him. However, despite our efforts, our love will be imperfect, because we are imperfect and God is perfect. We are not worthy to love God, and it is impossible to have true love for God over a long period of time without some special help from God. That special help comes in the form of illumination and inspiration–something that God never denies us, if we have faith. “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. ” (Luke 11:9)

So, we find God only through our love for Him, and we find that love only through faith, and through faith we find God.

But is finding faith easy? Finding faith is the tallest order in human life.

Acupressure Points

Traditional Chinese medicine discovered that excesses of particular activities weaken the immune system by overstressing certain acupressure meridian pathways.

Excess standing damages the bladder and kidney meridians, which can cause fatigue and low backaches..

Excess sitting can damage the stomach and spleen meridians, which can contribute to anemia or digestive disorders.

Excess lying down can damage the large intestine and lung meridians, which can affect both respiration and elimination.

Excess use of your eyes (as in close desk work) or emotional stress can damage the small intestine and heart meridians, which can create emotional imbalances.

Excess physical exertion can damage the gallbladder and liver meridians, which can cause cramps and spasms.

By using acupressure points regularly, balancing your activities, and practicing deep breathing, you can counteract stresses, prevent fatigue, and boost your immune system. Deep breathing exercises alone can greatly increase your energy level and boost your immune system.

A Better and Happier You in 2018

A Better and Happier You in 2018

There is an old Latin axiom: “nemo dat quod non habet” — meaning, one cannot give what one does not have.

If you don’t have the wisdom to know your real self, you won’t have the wisdom to understand others, especially who they are and what they need. In order to understand others to have better human relationships, you must first and foremost have the wisdom attained through asking self-intuitive questions throughout your life.

Then, with mindfulness, you observe with a nonjudgmental mind what is happening to you, as well as around you. Gradually, you will be able to see things as what they really are, and not as what they may seem to you: anything and everything in life follows its own natural cycle, just as the day becomes night, and the night transformed into dawn. With that wisdom, you may become enlightened, which means you begin to know your true self—what you have and what you don’t have, and you were created to be who you are, and not what you wish you were or want to become. Knowing what you have, you can then give it to others. It is the giving, rather than the receiving, that will make you become a better and happier you in 2018.

How To Be Better and Happier in 2018

How To Be Better And Happier in 2018

As a New Year resolution, reflect on your current state of being, and see others as the same. They are not better or worse than you are, but just different in their own ways. There isw no basis for you to be angry with them, or to be envious of them. There is no rhyme or reason for you to dwell on “what could have” or “what should have”— they only prey on your mind, preventing you from being a better and happier you.

To be a better and happier you, follow the behaviors of the ancient masters and sages.

“The ancient masters were
subtle, mysterious, profound, responsive.
The depth of their knowledge is unfathomable.
Because it is unfathomable,
All we can do is to describe their appearance.
Watchful, like men crossing a winter stream.
Alert, like men aware of danger.
Courteous, like visiting guests.
Yielding, like ice about to melt.
Simple, like uncarved blocks of wood.
Hollow, like caves.
Opaque, like muddy pools.
Who can wait quietly while the mud settles?
Who can remain still until the moment of action?
Observers of the Tao do not seek fulfillment.
Not seeking fulfillment,
they are not swayed by desire for change.”
(Chapter 15, Tao Te Ching)

Be watchful: be aware of living in the present moment.

Be alert: be mindful of self and others; be perceptive of the whole picture so as to see the reality of anything and everything.

Be courteous: be loving of self, and be compassionate to others.

Be yielding: be ready and willing to embrace what life has to offer—including life challenges and difficulties.

Be simple: be simple in your needs and wants; simplicity leads to non-attachment.

Be hollow: be open-minded and receptive to new ideas.

Be opaque: Be patient, letting go of anything and every-thing, and allowing nature to run its course because the way of nature is unchanging.

You Just Don't Die!

“YOU JUST DON’T DIE!”

This 154-page book is about how to live your life as if everything is a miracle if you just don’t die as you continue with you life journey with the many changes and challenges confronting you, including your loss of vision.

Human existence is meaningless without life purpose and human happiness. The pursuit of longevity has been going on since time immemorial. Consciousness holds the key to the success of this pursuit. Consciousness of living is wisdom of the mind to understand the self, others, as well as how and why certain things happen. Wisdom in living enables one to complete the rest of one's life journey and reaching the destination.

To live to 100 and beyond—if you just don’t die—you must ask questions about life; after all, living is about asking questions and seeking answers to the questions asked, and thereby instrumental in providing wisdom or a blueprint to continue the rest of your life journey.

The first question you should consciously ask yourself is: "How long do I wish to live?" Of course, that is only a hypothetical question because you really don’t have much of a choice—unless you would like to purposely end your life prematurely. Naturally, the answer to that question may also change over different phases in your life, depending on the quality of your life in that particular phase.

The second question you should consciously ask yourself is: "Why do I want to live long, or why not?" This question will be naturally followed by the third question: “How do I live long, or what can make me desire to live longer?”

The final question—if you just don’t die—is: "How should I live the rest of my life to overcome my daily problems and life challenges?"

The objective of this 154-page book is neither to convince you to crave longevity, nor to show you how to live to one hundred and beyond. It simply presents you with the consciousness of living the rest of your years—if you just don’t die!

Cancer Scare

Attachment is a sign of fear -- fear of losing something we hold onto, such as life. Therefore, to be diagnosed with cancer is a traumatic experience for anyone who is attached to life. A friend of mine was recently diagnosed with cancer. A biopsy was scheduled and performed. It turned out that it was negative: it was just a viral infection that could be treated with antibiotics. What a relief! Imagine the days of anguish and trauma prior to the biopsy, and the anxiety while waiting for the result of the biopsy.
Unfortunately, many have undergone such similar excruciating experience when they were wrongly diagnosed, and, worse, when they were positively confirmed that they had cancer. But that is life: bad things do happen to good people, and misfortunes, such as diseases and tragedies, are sometimes unavoidable.
What can we do if we find ourselves in such an unfortunate situation, such as a positive cancer diagnosis? First and foremost, we must accept the reality. This might be an opportunity for letting go -- letting go of attachments in life, including the attachment to any pre-conditioned thinking that a cancer diagnosis is a death sentence, or that most cancers are incurable. Letting go, ironically enough, is a release from the bondage of anxiety and fear of the unknown. Letting go, surprisingly, provides peace and clarity of mind.
Given that cancer is a complex and multi-faceted disease involving many different body systems, organs, and tissues, we must be knowledgeable, and do not simply rely on the opinion of just one doctor. We must seek second or even third opinion, and keep an open mind for other alternative treatment options. In addition, there are many options for cancer treatments.
The next thing to do is to have a calm and open mind. We must not feel distressed, and we must be prepared to change our mindset—just as George Bernard Shaw once said: “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” We must have the right mindset to combat the cancer.
It is important to remember that in life something good may come out of something bad, and when God closes a door He may also open a window. Without a close member of my family being misdiagnosed with cancer, I would not written a book entitled: Congratulation! You've Got Cancer.
My book is about what to do when one is diagnosed with cancer.  I am neither a doctor nor an oncologist. In my book, I simply show the power of the mind not only in coping with the traumatic experience of cancer but also in overcoming the disease itself. In addition, I present detailed information on what an individual must do on the cancer journey of cure and recovery. A cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. Rather, it is an opportunity for growth and development. We must increase mind power to conquer the cancer.

Save the Face (3)

When it comes to saving the face, just remember the following:

Your face is not you.

Your youthful look is only a part of you, and it is bound to change, no matter what. Learn how to delay, but also to accept, that inevitable change on your look.

Nobody’s face is perfect—let alone yours.

Do what you can, but do it!

Your over-concern for face image will level off at around fifties and sixties, when you would be more concerned with your health than with your youthfulness. This is the reality of life!

Today, the mass media have bombarded us with tons of information about health and wellness, so much so that it may become even stressful and worrisome to some.

One of the objectives of this book is to present relevant information in a readable and easy-to-follow format. You need not read the entire book, though it is recommended that you do. This book is organized in such a way that you can scan the detailed content page with appropriate headings to find the information you need to deal with your own specific problems.

This book is comprehensive in that it covers virtually all aspects of a healthy mind and body—the requisites for becoming younger and healthier for longer. They may be different for men and women in their different stages of their lives.

Life is a myriad of complex problems, which are often inter-related. This book provides you with different choices of solutions. Instead of getting old gracefully, why not mature youthfully?

The ominous reminders of old age and mortality are your more frequent visits to doctors, the wrinkles on your face, and the change of shape and structure of your physique, among others. Overcoming these ravages of aging is what this book is all about.

Saving the Face (2)

 Fat injections

Fat injections are living grafts in which part of the fat from your own body, usually from the buttocks, stays and lives in a new environment.

Fat injections have the following advantages, compared to other non-surgical procedures:

More cost effective, compared to other non-surgical procedures.

The intervals between injections can be up to several months. They are

Fat injections may be the best option for deep smile folds, much more effective than collagen injections.

Restylane

Restylane is a clear gel injected into your skin to soften your facial contours, and to remove lines and wrinkles on your face. It is derived from a product as bio-compatible and bio-degradable as the natural hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in your body. Hyaluronic acid, present mainly in your skin, is a substance that gives your body its structure and volume by attracting and holding on to the water in your skin. As such, it is most ideal for line and wrinkle filler.

Restylane has the following advantages over other similar products to remove wrinkles:

Restylane does not paralyze your facial muscles. It can be injected almost anywhere on your face.

Restylane eliminates any rejection risk by your body because it is naturally found in your own body.

Restylane lasts longer (up to a year) than collagen injections. It is, therefore, more cost effective in the long haul, although it costs 40 to 50 percent more than a collagen injection does.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, every year thousands of individuals opt for cosmetic procedures to save their faces, and of these individual in quest for a youthful look about 88 percent are women and 12 percent are men. However, cosmetic procedures only temporarily fix the problems of skin aging. Having a youthful look is more than just skin deep, and it never comes easy.

Saving the Face (1)

SAVING THE FACE

Unfortunately, the skin aging process cannot be reversed.

You can only fix your face through non-surgical procedures, such as Botox and Restylane, and other invasive surgical procedures, such as a face-lift.

Botox

Botox has been hailed as “the new fountain of youth” or the magic potion to aging.

Can Botox really save your face?

The pros of Botox are as follows:

Botox is a purified protein injected into your skin to make your muscles contract, and hence smoothing out your crows’-feet lines around your eyes.

Botox is minimally invasive, much better than invasive plastic surgery.

Botox is an instant fix: you can see the results almost immediately.

Botox gives a more natural look, except for the lines around the mouth. This is the reason why Botox is generally not applied on the smile folds because it weakens the muscle around the mouth, making your smile look “unnatural.”

Botox is a fairly safe and an ideal procedure because the botulimum (a toxic chemical) in Botox is extremely low, and there is little or no buildup of the toxin in your body (often eliminated within 24 to 48 hours—or at least according to Botox) to pose any major health risk.

Botox is relatively inexpensive, compared to other invasive procedures, such as a face-lift.

The cons of Botox are as follows:

Botox paralyzes your facial muscles, and therefore cannot fix your smile folds, making your smile seem “unnatural.”

Botox is still costly long term: the procedure has to be repeated every three to four months.

Botox is a drug with botulimum (a toxic chemical), and you may still have some concern about injecting it into your body.

Collagen injections

Besides Botox, there are other non-surgical procedures for consideration to save your face.

Collagen is a protein substance in the dermis layer of your skin, which is responsible for your skin’s elasticity. Collagen injections use bovine collagen, which is pure collagen obtainable from isolated cows, and which is clinically tested prior to injection.

Collagen injections have the following advantages:

Collagen injections make the lines on the face become less obvious and much smoother, but they do not make the lines disappear completely as Botox does.

Collagen injections are used mainly between the eyebrows and on smile folds, where Botox does not work effectively.

The disadvantages of collagen injections are as follows:

Collagen injections are not for everyone, especially if you are allergic to cows.

Collagen injections only soften your lines: they do not remove them completely.

More next time!

All-Round Weight Loss
by Stephen Lau

Everybody wants to lose some weight; some even want to lose a lot more. But almost everybody gains back all the pounds that have been lost, and then some.

Why is that? Because weight loss is not just about eating less—after all, everybody wants to eat more, not less. Weight loss is about everything, just as Oprah Winfrey once said: “My greatest failure was in believing that the weight issue was just about weight.” Oprah was right. Weight loss is all-round; that is, it involves the body, the mind, and the spirit. To illustrate, weight loss is also about the thinking mind; it is the thoughts that make you fat, more than anything else. According to Esther and Jerry Hicks' bestseller "Money and the Law of Attraction," people not only want the food but also believe that the food will make them fat, and thus have created that which they do not want; unfortunately, their thoughts attract what they do not want, so their bodies respond to the thinking mind, and gain instead of losing weight.

Therefore, going on a fad diet, abstaining from certain types of food, reducing calorie consumption-all these only contribute to the weight-loss hype that sustains the billion-dollar weight-loss industry. The consumers forever lose in the battle of the bulge.

ALL-ROUND WEIGHT LOSS is holistic weight management in that it covers every aspect of weight loss, beginning with the mind, the body, and then the spirit, to make weight loss natural and permanent. Only holistic weight management guarantees lasting weight loss. Do not waste money on diets, and weight-loss products and programs that do not work. Follow the author's simple but comprehensive holistic approach to wellness and weight management. Remember, if you are healthy in body, mind, and soul, you will not have any weight problem.
